Besides San Francisco (SFO), another option to get to us is to fly into Oakland (OAK). Oakland is significantly closer to us, and if you are renting a car and can get a decent flight, it's probably a better choice. But your chance of finding a non-stop flight might be more limited, especially if you're coming from far away. And I don't know if there are any flights between Oakland and eastern Canada. But San Francisco isn't too far away either. San Jose (SJC) is in theory another choice, but it's all the way at the other end of the San Francisco Bay (roughly an hour away), and I've never flown into or out of it while living here.
SFO now does have direct public transit access via BART, although it's not quite as convenient as it was when it opened due to service cutbacks. There is a sort of BART stop for Oakland Airport, but it doesn't really stop at the airport -- you have to take a shuttle bus to get between the airport and the BART stop. We'll post more information about ground transportation options from the airports as the wedding approaches.
