We had been warned that Cairo was going to be crowded and busy and hot and noisy and polluted, so we had prepared ourselves for the worst. But having been to Bangkok and Hanoi, I think we're plenty capable of dealing with large non-Western cities now. Because while all of those warnings were true to some extent, it really just wasn't that big of a deal. Certainly not like the unpleasantness that we felt when we first landed in Hanoi. (Although even that we could deal with better when we passed through Hanoi a second time.)
